At Plejecenter Astersvej there are 50 homes, of which 48 are permanent homes for citizens with dementia. Our 2 temporary homes are also used for residents with dementia.
The homes are divided into 4 departments. For each ward there is a large bright living room which is a meeting point for the residents. Here the residents eat together, have fun, watch television. Various activities also take place in the living room, it can be gymnastics, baking, banking, singing, games, various domestic chores etc.
At the nursing home, work is done in teams linked to each department.
Special efforts
Each individual citizen is unique and a care plan is drawn up based on the individual citizen’s special needs.
Tom Kitwood’s theory, and the values that underlie it, are important elements in the everyday life we want to create for our residents. Using the Marte Meo method as a technique and tool plays well with Tom Kitwood’s theories.
What characterizes our way of working is:
- Recognition
- Involvement
- Reassurance
- Soreness
- Proximity
- To give people the opportunity to do what man can do and to provide the support for it
At Care Center Astersvej, the citizen is the focus and great emphasis is placed on maintaining resources and creating a good quality of life.
